Cathy got to see her first wild moose on our trip from Rock Springs! We have a fantastic view (when it isn't raining)! We caught a break during tear down, when it wasn't raining, but had to set up in the rain. We sat out the most intense showers, and it took a long time to finish. We also were hailed on after we got set up.
This is a beautiful park, but the sites are not very long. The cycle trailer is parked in overflow, the truck in the front, and the cycle smooshed in the back.
We plan on being in Grand Teton National Park in the next few days, and will post pictures as we go along. I know I have not kept up the blog like I wanted to, but I promise to fill in all the back posts this year. Keep checking back.
Well, Steve had met one of our former neighbors while he was touring our old homestead in Las Vegas, and was informed that said neighbor lived around Grand Teton NP. So, Steve calls him up, and we go for a visit. We had a great visit with Jeff and Nancy, (and a great lunch, thanks again!), plus some pointers on visiting the park!
We went up the shortcut (Moose-Wilson Road) to the Craig Thomas Discovery and Vistor Center! What a place, and the movie in the theatre was very good. We drove up HIghway 191 and saw some bison in a field. Steve insisted that they were cows, but Cathy knew better. We had some great views of the Tetons on the drive, stopping at all the turnouts and overlooks. We ate dinner at the Jackson Lake Lodge, with a great view of Jackson Lake. Tomorrow we take the cycle for a spin to Jenny Lake in the Park.
