Nice park in a Phoenix suburb! We toured the State Capitol and Museum.
We traveled to Scottsdale to visit Taliesin West, which was Frank Lloyd Wright's studio and school. Very cool stuff, but uncomfortable chairs! There is a theatre for performances, and the bench seating is at an angle on purpose. Supposedly, Frank always put his arm behind his wife's shoulders and crossed his left leg over his right. When sitting in that position, you are automatically faced straight forward! Great acoustics also.
We then toured the Phoenix Art Gallery, where they had an FLW exhibit, as well as his plans for the Arizona Capital building (that they didn't use! It would have been great!)
We took a day to go to the Good Sam Rally, and went through the Vendors exhibits. What a crowd of people, and those were just the day trippers! Saw a lot of RVs and stuff and gadgets!!!
Steve went to a Car Show and Folk/Heritage Festival in Glendale, and met a Rodeo Clown/Bullfighter named Johnny Thompson. He must have had a few tales to tell!
