6/25-7/9 Croton Point Park, Croton on Hudson, NY

We had a great time in this area, going by train into New York City almost daily for awhile; as well as visiting Hyde Park, NY and West Point.  Steve also hiked part of the Appalachian Trail.

our view from the train to NYC - Hudson River

Our first day to NYC, the train took us from Croton on Hudson station, (just outside the park we were staying in) right into Grand Central Terminal!  Boy that place is a maze, but by the time we left, we were pros!  Right outside GCT we were accosted by the tour bus sales people!  I don't really know how they knew, but we were going to look for them anyway.  We purchased a 3 day tour package, and got the 4th day free.  Our package consisted of a Downtown tour, an Uptown tour, a Brooklyn tour, a Night time tour, and a Harbor tour.  We also toured the Empire State Building, the World Trade Center Museum, Ellis Island and Liberty Island with other groups.  What fun!

On our Harbor tour, we met some Mormon Tabernacle Choir members who were in town with the MTC to perform at several venues.  We had a nice chat and received a CD of their music. On the way back on the train one night, Cathy invited a young lady to share her seat, and we had to explain what full-time RVing was all about,  She acted fascinated, and asked lots of questions,  She explained that she knew we were tourists because no New Yorker would ever offer a seat to a young person on the train!
guess who is who!

We were able to have dinner one evening with nephew and niece, Aaron and Jessica!  Remember them, they got married in May and Cathy attended.  We had a great time with them!

I am going to just post photos with captions, because it is too hard to remember what we saw on what day!  So here goes...
